Zion Church History
In October 1933, The Mt. Sinai Holy Church of America, Inc. started a church in Newark, NJ and Bishop Elmira Jeffries was the first Pastor. In 1934, Elder M.E. Stith came to lead the Newark flock. Here she found Sister Katherine C. Lewis steadfast and patiently waiting for a Pastor to take charge at 24 Rutgers Street, where God continued to bless and make his people a blessing.
